The famous psychologist Miss Lucy Peveney is invited to deliver several lectures at the women’s sports college Lais. Lucy immerses herself in the atmosphere and with interest studies the sweet, cheerful girls. Soon, one of the graduating students tragically dies. Miss Peveney suspects it wasn’t an accident, but a carefully planned crime, and asks herself: “Who benefits from this?” Eight years ago, young Patrick Ashby, the heir to a huge fortune, disappeared without a trace. All these years he was considered dead. Suddenly, at the Ashby family estate, a certain Brett Farrar appears, claiming to be Patrick.
