Mirages of the Taiga Lake

I’m a volunteer search team member and the keeper of the secrets of the taiga. In the villages by a secluded lake, when fog settles over sleeping streets, people disappear year after year. Some vanish without a trace, getting lost in the dense taiga—while others return, possessed by an unknown power.

This time the search begins anew: tourists are missing. I go out and meet HIM—my first and only love— the one I spent three weeks with at sea five years ago…

He’s a city guy, for whom forest spirits and everything from beyond is just a fairy tale. For me, it’s real life.

Something comes with the fog to almost-abandoned villages—something that brings death. We face this anomaly face-to-face, and the familiar world for each of us collapses.
