Dear Hans, Dear Peter

Alexander Mindadze is a screenwriter and director with many awards, such as the “Silver Bear” from the Berlin Film Festival, the “Nika” and “White Elephant” prizes. He also received the Ennio Flaiano “Silver Pegasus” award for achievements in film literature.

The audiobook “Dear Hans, Dear Peter” includes eight of Mindadze’s screen narrative stories, part of which are published for the first time. He remains faithful to the Russian film tradition of the 1970s, which brought poetry to everyday city life and allowed every person to express themselves. Over time, his style acquired a unique code, and his works began to anticipate future events.

Mindadze appears as a classic who honors national traditions, a modernist with the integrity of a literary style, and a postmodernist who plays with viewers’ expectations. He reimagined the language of Eastern European “cinema of moral unease,” turning it into cinematic constant anxiety.
