The book "The Mercy of the Door" is an autobiographical story about the beginning of life. The story ends somewhere in the 70s–80s, and right now I’m going into my 95th year. I can’t write a continuation because I can’t see anything. I can’t read or write. Life put me in such a position that I can only speak. And that gave me the possibility to make six programs with Father Dmitry Smirnov, in which I talk about the book and about my attitude to various questions—so to speak, outside politics. I don’t touch politics, but I do relate to different church issues, in particular to canonization. We worked on this topic together, because in many ways he holds the same opinion as I do.
