Description
Over many thousands of years, enormous numbers of hostile microbes attack and destroy the human population. However, there are people with a set of genes that—at least to some extent—protects them from disease. In the end, it is their offspring that makes up a large portion of the surviving population. It turns out that dangerous and sometimes deadly epidemics are useful—for each individual person, and for all of humanity, because they select the best among us.
