Medical faculty student Qin Chen returns to the mountain-hidden village of Qintai—where, seventeen years ago, his father vanished without a trace. He doesn’t come alone: with him are the pampered son of a wealthy man, Huo Yang, obsessed with finding treasures in the local caves, and his girlfriend Bai Lusi, plagued by inexplicable visions. Once they arrive, producer Mei Mei joins the group with a film crew: they’ve come to Qintai to obtain a sensational report about a forgotten cult.
