Imagine that grapes grow in England, and that you can reach Greenland—and even America—on a simple Viking drakkar. A few centuries ago, this was a reality. But then, in Europe—and in our country too—things became much colder. People had to learn to survive in a new era, which history remembers as the Little Ice Age. And it’s worth noting: they did quite well—hard weather conditions turned out to be both evil and a blessing at the same time. They forced people to invent new technologies, master new continents, and advance science. This book tells the story of the most difficult, but possibly also the most progressive period in European history.
