Hunter’s novels are known for their tangled, incredibly complex plots, which nevertheless are successfully resolved by the end of the story. At the same time, in all his novels, events are presented from the point of view of different characters, with the subjectivity inherent to the specifics of each character. This makes the plot—which might otherwise seem very confusing—clearer to the average reader. The combination of these two elements is rather unusual among modern high-tension novel writers, and it may partly explain the popularity of Hunter’s novels.
