Description
The book describes a private school for boys. It has rather free rules of conduct, yet the students—so different in character and outlook on life—unnoticeably become real men. The difficulties and mistakes that the boys make at first, and then correct themselves, only help them learn to be brave and honest, to value friendship and loyalty. And most importantly, the little men constantly feel the love and support of their mentors… The novella belongs to the pen of the world-famous American writer Louisa May Alcott (1832–1888), author of the “cult” book «Little Women». The novella «Little Men» (1871), like most of Alcott’s works, is partly autobiographical: it is about the writer’s nephews. And although it is a completely independent work, readers of «Little Women» will be glad to meet one of the grown-up favorite heroines and other familiar characters.
