Preparing the materials for this book, we spent more than two years interviewing dozens of top sellers—CEOs and owners of companies, entrepreneurs, and authors of bestsellers—each of whom ranked among the top one percent in their field. We wanted to know what they do differently from the other 99 percent. Their average incomes ranged from a quarter of a million to seven-figure figures; some of what we heard surprised us greatly, and some was quite predictable.
