In the first episode, Slavik and Matilda live on the street at first, and then go to a secret bar—thanks to that, they end up in a special hostel. Matilda loses her heart.
In the continuation of the series “The Shop Works Until the Onset of Darkness,” Slavik finds himself in some other Moscow—not the one where he lived just recently. Here there are the Square of the Four Railway Stations and the “Buckwheat Market” station; the police haven’t been renamed from “militsiya”; and there’s also a rampaging disease that threatens infertility, tumor development, and sudden death. Slavik watches in astonishment as the fabric of familiar reality tears apart; he learns to recognize “differences” and “strangenesses” and doesn’t miss his former life. In this other Moscow there isn’t even the antique shop where he recently started working. The store has shut down, but the oddities connected to it haven’t stopped…
