“One more step—and I’ll smash your brains. — I’m here by law! Papers in my hands!”
“Of course. And then I’ll be the Queen of England.”
The first clash between a successful architect and his neighbor, Vasilisa, turned out— to put it mildly—unconventional. He fled the city to a village for quiet and a breather, but instead found himself in a real siege: the local “Amazon,” gun in hand, is convinced that all newcomers are useless freeloaders.
So begins the neighborhood feud between a well-groomed urban dandy and a closed-off village loner. On paper they’re bound to each other tightly, their characters are like gunpowder, and mutual sympathy is aiming for zero. Only, it turns out that the sharpest dislike can unexpectedly turn into the gentlest attachment—albeit with plenty of inconveniences for two.
