“Love for Father’s Coffins” is a novel about people who are both close and not close at the same time; ordinary and terrifying at once. And about the illusions of these people—rainbow soap bubbles that people admire instead of looking at what is under their feet. This is a very serious novel with a lot of humor. The humor here runs the whole gamut—from a smile to sarcasm—once again emphasizing that there’s only a step from funny to sad.
