The main character of Luciano Valdes’s novel is a famous writer. Any woman is ready to fall into his arms—just a beckoning finger’s gesture. Only one thing clouds Valdes’s otherwise carefree life: for a year, he has been unable to write anything except a single line: “A bony red cat crossed the street.” The prolonged creative crisis leads to depression. But at this moment, Luciano meets Caterina—young, passionate, and delighted. Convinced that with Caterina’s help he will overcome the crisis and start writing again, Luciano doesn’t notice how he falls in love with her… and commits a murder.
