A young priest is sent to a village forgotten by God and people to restore a church with a four-hundred-year history. Upon arriving, Father Ilya encounters entrenched superstition and a steadfast belief in ghosts. The remaining villagers, one and all, insist there is a ghost guarding their home. The priest moves into that very house. And the closer the workers get to the church’s storage vault, the more strange things begin to happen in the house. The body of a child that has been found seems to “pull the string”—and the girl who died a hundred years ago comes to the priest’s home.
