This is a story about a world where destinies are decided by the stars, and a new birth does not at all mean redemption.
In the Middle Kingdom, everyone is allotted their own path: one is destined to become a hero, while another must turn into the Haze/Inclement Weather.
After the death of Mo Yan’s mother, who was cursed with the Haze/Inclement Weather, a shadow of suspicion falls upon the noble Gu Ming—chosen by Heaven. Blinded by a thirst for retribution, Mo Yan stages a bloody slaughter in the schools of spellcasters and kills the hero, paying for it with his own life.
But the story does not end there.
Both of them return to the past—ten years before the fateful events.
