Description

Primorsky Krai, Manchuria, Transbaikalia. The end of the 1920s. A young operative of the OGPU, Konstantin Rukavishnikov, due to circumstances, is sent on a business trip from Moscow to Vladivostok. The situation in the city is tense. The gangs from the Millionka—having their informants in the system of state agencies—act brazenly. Rukavishnikov takes an active part in destroying one of the gangs, and then is appointed commander of an assault group operating against the hunchuzs and smugglers. A significant help comes from his guide-nanaic, the local shaman Sure Gaer. After successfully completing the mission, Rukavishnikov goes to Moscow for a new assignment, where he meets Stalin’s personal adviser…
