Cut off from the whole world, in the north of Moscow Oblast, the small settlement Mirny tries to survive. It’s surrounded by a wall and consists of modular houses—sealed and protected from radiation. At first glance, there’s nothing to threaten this little colony of a hundred-plus people—except hopelessness and slow degradation. The supplies should last for another decade. What to do next—no one really thinks about it. But then, suddenly, people start disappearing, simply walking away into nowhere. Gradually, residents realize that something dark ties this place and its surroundings to the past—rooted in the pre-war years. Yet no one imagines how terrible that secret is.
