What do children feel? Infants announce their desires with crying. And what about older ones—what are they thinking at six, seven years old? What is betrayal for them? What are they afraid of? We, adults, find stuffed bears and bunnies made of plasticine adorable. We laugh and cry when we watch children dance at the holiday concert. But do we know what happens on the other side of the kindergarten fence? And, most importantly, do we have any idea when our children learn not to live, but to survive?
