Mike Hagen isn’t big, and he’s never been able to take life’s blows. After his mother dies, he shuts himself away in his own little world—made up of humiliating work, heavy drinking, and dreams of a great future. And he would probably float through life like that until the end—if, on one gloomy Saturday morning, he didn’t start seeing the world through a game interface. How will a fan of no-rules combat use his new opportunities? And what will he be willing to do to level up and put an end to his humiliations?
