Florae McKenzie is twenty-six. She’s still unmarried and doesn’t even have a boyfriend. How are you supposed to meet someone when you go from home to work and back again—on a packed London Underground train? Dates through “Tinder”? That doesn’t work out for her very well, either. Plus, she’s been hopelessly in love with her boss, Joel, for ages—who doesn’t seem to notice her at all.
It seems like her life is turning into one endless routine... But one wonderful day everything changes: her boss asks Florae to solve a problem for an important client—by buying property on a small Scottish island, from which she herself comes. How much she doesn’t want to go there! But the matter is decided, and Florae sets off.
She doesn’t yet realize that soon she’ll become the owner of a small restaurant—and that will flip her assumptions about life and about herself upside down.
