Lecture: "On the Nature of Aggression and the Psychology of Evil"

1 hr. 32 min.
Description
In modern society, the level of aggression has reached a critical point. People experience mutual hostility, and rarely does anyone think about the consequences of their aggressive actions and words. Also, very few consider what children will grow into in conditions of constant conflict—for example, in a war zone. In a world where everyone is left alone with their emotions, it is hard to understand the source of aggression. How does a peaceful person turn into a cruel warrior or murderer? Why does violence happen between teachers and students? Why do drivers become aggressive on the roads and resolve conflicts with physical methods? Where does the evil everyone fears come from? How do large-scale conflicts, wars, and genocide begin? And most importantly: how can we protect ourselves from it?

Psychologist Sergey Enikolopov, who specializes in studying evil and violence, says that such mechanisms do exist. In his lecture on February 10, he promises to answer all these questions and teach methods of protection against violence.
