Lecture: "Michel de Montaigne"

Michel de Montaigne, known as the «last humanist», was a key figure in the period between the Middle Ages and the New Time. He embodied a type of person who valued intellect and reason above all else. Although the encyclopedia describes him as a «French Stoic philosopher,» this definition doesn’t capture the full extent of his significance. Montaigne became one of the founders of the Enlightenment era, influencing many thinkers and encyclopedists.
