Lecture: "Genes, Language and the Brain"

To understand the genetic basis of our abilities and their connection to other biological species, and to determine the influence of society and culture, we must first obtain genes and treat them with extreme caution. Determining the ratio of innate and acquired traits is a complex task. Russian biologist and psychologist Tatyana Vladimirovna Chernigovskaya is known for her work in linguistics and semiotics, as well as her involvement in popular science projects. She warns that scientific data raises doubts about the credibility of information provided by the brain, and emphasizes that understanding consciousness remains a mystery—urging not to trust those who claim the opposite.
