Two novels by the poet Sergey Yesenin with outstanding actresses are stories about a powerful creative alliance which, in both cases, ended in tragedy but left behind a dazzling artistic result.

The book is about two famous couples: Sergey Yesenin and Zinaida Reich, Sergey Yesenin and Isadora Duncan. The story of Yesenin and Reich is an example of how youth and an inability to recognize one’s own potential prevented the couple from preserving their family. As for the relationship with Duncan, it is rather a case where both were too exhausted and internally “burned out” to truly start everything anew.
