This book tells the history of Russia through events in the lives of certain aristocratic families—from the beginning of the 20th century to the beginning of the Civil War. The foundation of the book is documentary evidence about the past events in the Russian Empire and Soviet Russia. All the stories are devoted to the tragedy and—more broadly—the fate of the empire and of the citizen in particular.
In volume 2, we’ll move from Moscow to Petrograd and then to Province N. The second main character, once burned in life, became a different person overnight. It’s hard not to notice such coming-of-age—so the hero becomes a find for spies. New acquaintances sharply change the hero’s life, and it even benefits him. Perhaps the greatest benefit is his falling in love. He meets his only woman—a Decembrist woman, ready to be both his beloved and his friend. The hero’s desire to visit his parents before the inevitable emigration radically changes his life. All further adventures are more interesting to discover on your own.
