Little Dorrit

Little Dorrit is a novel by the English writer Charles Dickens, and together with “Bleak House” and “Hard Times” it belongs to the author’s top three socially significant works. The novel is divided into two books: the first, “Poverty,” and the second, “Riches.” The action takes place in England in the early 19th century. Dickens depicts the destinies of people in their complex intertwined lives, while simultaneously exposing the vices of the state system that suffocates everything progressive in the country. “My faith in the people who rule, in general, is very small.
