The Cottage

A young writer goes to a secluded cottage to finish a novel she started long ago. But she can’t enjoy rural idyll: when night falls, terrible things begin to happen. Jana is going through a bad time. At first, spending half a year alone in a remote cottage away from city bustle seems like a wonderful idea. In the embrace of nature, she will put her thoughts in order and finally get down to her novel. But soon Jana realizes she probably won’t get to enjoy the country idyll. At night, the cottage is besieged by uninvited guests—and with each day they become bolder. Fear paralyzes, drives her mad; Jana is sure she’ll lose her mind if she doesn’t leave this place. There’s no one to turn to for help. Most people are already whispering that she’s not right in the head. But Jana is certain that in this little village everything has something being kept quiet. And gradually, details begin to form a dreadful picture.

Retreat? Or stay? And face her own nightmares—sometimes scarier than what lurks in the pitch-dark.
