The Cat Living on the Roof

A Cat Living on the Roof is a novel by Maria Zaitseva, genre: contemporary romance. I paused for a second, because I really couldn’t picture an eighteen-year-old guy any other way—then I came to my senses and kicked him. I didn’t hit anywhere, but the attempt was counted, and they lifted me into the air and impaled me on a stubborn hip against the wall. Powerful. Sturdy. I squealed and jerked again, and then a broad palm clamped my mouth shut. And that’s when the realization finally hit me. Morning. A vacant stairwell. I’m alone with this degenerate, with whom you can’t even pick decent words. And I’m completely immobilized! I can’t even scream! I froze in fright, staring into gray, angry eyes—eyes that suddenly turned out to be very close to my face.
