On stage, passions run high: love and hatred, betrayal and nobility, a person’s loneliness in an indifferent society, the desire to hide from a harsh life in a fabricated world, the short-lived and fragile nature of beauty, the lack of understanding between people, sometimes the closest ones.
In 1958, this play was adapted into an eponymous feature film with Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman in the leading roles!
