In his new book, famous music journalist, producer, and writer Aleksandr Kushnir explores the biography of Ilya Kormiltsev—a poet, translator, publisher, public figure, and author of many hits by groups “Nautilus Pompilius,” “Nastya,” and “Urfin Jus,” which formed the “golden fund” of Russian rock. It’s both a work of fiction and a photo album dedicated to the memory of a great man.
Aleksandr Kushnir was personally acquainted with Ilya Kormiltsev, interviewed him many times, and collaborated with him on various projects.
The novella about Kormiltsev continues the study of the fates of underestimated geniuses of the domestic underground, begun in the book about Sergey Kuryokhin, “The Mad Mechanics of Russian Rock,” which won the “Steppe Wolf” award in the category “Best Rock Book of 2014.”
