The Ship of Ishtar

The main character of the novel, archaeologist John Kenton, receives an ancient artifact containing an incredibly detailed model of a ship. With its help, Kenton is taken to a strange world outside time and space aboard a ship cursed by the gods, sailing across the endless sea where an endless battle between two opposing deities—Ishtar and Nergal—takes place. Kenton’s unexpected appearance heats up a situation that had been frozen for almost 6,000 years, and he is drawn into a whole avalanche of incredible trials and adventures.
