Forester Vasily Vesyolkin is given an important government assignment: to find timber for aviation plywood. Remembering that even back in childhood he heard a story about a certain protected “Shipyard Grove” that isn’t cut down and is guarded as a shrine: “In this pine grove, all the trees are straight and tall, and they stand so close together that even if you cut a tree, it doesn’t fall—it stays standing among the others, like it’s alive.” Vesyolkin decides to find this unique place in order to use the centuries-old pines for the needs of Soviet aviation. ©&℀обьев V.A.©&??
