Contract for One Battle

A Moon that has been orbiting Earth for millennia is an artificial satellite built by the Creators— a highly developed race of space tramps who use planets as industrial bases or incubators for growing biological organisms of the most diverse kinds. Long ago, such an incubator existed on Earth. But something didn’t suit the Owners, and they left this sector of the Galaxy forever, leaving unattended the bioworks that had been bred on the planet and a station drifting above their heads, considering it unnecessary to destroy absolutely everything.

The Russian cosmonaut Semyon Lisitsyn will have to learn about all this by visiting the Moon’s depths, the Creators’ ships, and other planets.
