Reaching a certain level of development allows science to solve the problem of time travel by using the immense energy of a supernova explosion. Humanity creates a structure called “Eternity,” made up of specially trained and selected people from different centuries who have taken a vow of celibacy. The task of “Eternity,” headed by the Council of Times, is to correct the fate of humankind—one that, on its path, keeps sliding toward self-destruction.
The harsh and ascetic laws of “Eternity” are tuned and never fail. But one day, the young and brilliant Technician Harlan—after one of his time relocations—falls in love with a beautiful girl, Noise, from another century. Love spins his head, shaking his foundations. Harlan faces a choice: duty and obedience to the law, or personal happiness? His decision could lead to time paradoxes and even to the disappearance of “Eternity” itself.
