The Companion

The young widow-countess Marie Valewskaya is left with a small son and her mother, having no means to live. After offering her services as a companion to the daughter of the Prince of Oldenburg, she decides to deceive in order to obtain the position. Marie introduces herself as a distant relative—a respectable elderly widow with strict rules. But her masquerade is exposed by Prince Oldenburg—who, in any case, has already become a victim of women’s deception. This failure threatens Marie with trouble and inner suffering. It’s a gripping story in which every hero will follow the path of tender feelings and deep secrets. And yes—may love be with them, for it is as strong as death.
