The story was adapted into a full-length film titled “Changing Reality.” In the film version of the plot, Matt Damon plays the politician David Norris, whose relationship with the ballerina Eliza Sellars unexpectedly goes awry due to mysterious forces controlling their world. Eliza was played by actress Emily Blunt. The screenwriter and director of the film is George Nolfi. The film was released in theaters on March 3, 2011. The second daughter of Dick—Isa Dick Hackett—is an executive producer of the film adaptation.
