Bjarne Roiter is a Danish writer and screenwriter known not only in his homeland. The novel “The Ring of Prince Faisal” was nominated for the H. C. Andersen Prize and became very popular—especially after being translated into English. The book tells of the adventures of fourteen-year-old teenager Tom Collins from the Caribbean island of Nevis in the world of the 17th century. Tom saves a stranger and obtains as his own possession part of the rights to the dark-skinned slave Bibido, who turns out to be a prince of a powerful tribe. The boy decides to return Bibido to his homeland, but on the way to achieving his goal, he faces dangers and adventures.
