Mark and Edith Williams, twenty years later, came to the same shop where they once bought a pink crystal necklace for their wedding.
The shop’s previous owner—Som Ki, a Chinese man—had been dead for five years, but his son continued the business.
Edith found a pink-crystal bell in the little shop and wanted to buy it, but Som Ki Jr. tried to dissuade her by telling a legend connected to the object. When the bell rings, the dead come alive—but the price is other deaths. Som Ki was very afraid of this bell, so he disconnected its clapper and hid it. With any other clapper, there will be no ringing.
Edith didn’t believe in this fairy tale and bought the bell. She knew where to get the clapper…
