Ancient gods and modern villains.
A tense, blood-chilling detective story from Finland’s coast.
In a seaside Finnish town where under external well-being hides a whole tangle of social and private problems, the body of a girl is found on the treadmill: she was shot at point-blank range with a shotgun. Anna Fekete, a young Hungarian-origin detective, goes to the crime scene. It’s her first day in the murders department. And as if the bloodied corpse weren’t enough, she’s assigned the worst possible partner—a racist drunk, Esko.
Anna quickly understands this won’t be an easy case: the main suspect has a ironclad alibi. And the police have nothing but one single clue: a strange amulet found with the victim, depicting an Aztec god of the hummingbird.
