Part two of the cycle. What happens if an inexperienced master made a protective talisman, and a person’s fate became permanently bound to the power of this object? Then any disappearance of the talisman is equivalent to the death of its owner. For almost one hundred and fifty years, a tradition has existed: on the day of a girl’s twelfth birthday, the mother passes the talisman to her older daughter—and until now its dark magic had never made itself known. But now the owner has been found dead, the talisman itself has been stolen, and her daughters are about to turn twelve.
At the same time, another misfortune occurs: under mysterious circumstances, two-year-old Makar—the son of Rita and Anton—disappears. The family has to find the child on their own, and soon they understand: the boy’s disappearance is directly connected to the theft of an ancient talisman.
