Patricia lives on an old family farm. She feels lonely, but she doesn’t want to leave home—the last thing connecting her to her sister Madlen, who disappeared many years ago.
Madlen moved to Sweden, and her trail was lost.
When Patricia receives a letter in the mail containing Madlen’s pendant, she decides to go looking for her sister.
She will find an entirely new world—in a remote area on the south coast of Sweden, which people have dubbed “the end of the world.”
Patricia will have to figure out which of the people around her knew Madlen: the charming innkeeper, owner of the local book club; the mysterious pastor and his son—and what all this has to do with the secrets the outwardly quiet Swedish town has been keeping for decades.
It was a sunny May day. Madlen decided to change her life and, for that purpose, went right to the “end of the world”—the remote Swedish coast—to join the local church.
Whatever happened there, soon after, she disappeared.
Time passes. Patricia, Madlen’s sister, receives by mail a letter with the pendant of the missing one. The sender is anonymous, but it gives Patricia hope.
She decides to follow her sister’s path. Perhaps she can find her.
The coast greets Patricia with beautiful views—and interesting people.
The innkeeper, members of the local book club, churchgoers, and its pastor—who among them knew Madlen? Patricia will have to solve a complicated mystery.
But what does this have to do with the secrets the outwardly quiet Swedish town has been keeping for more than a dozen years?
