The narration in this book is in the voice of Philipp Karlovich. He is 33 years old, does not work anywhere, and lives on the money from the apartments he rents out in Moscow. He moves around the world with ease and, in general, has a weakness for traveling.
One day, his father calls his son and asks him to do a very important errand. Philipp’s father lives in an old district of Vilnius with Philipp’s former nanny. Karl is an enthusiastic collector. Since childhood he has been collecting keys—especially those that have a story. In his understanding, this is a chance to find a door that fits one of the keys from his collection.
But the situation is reversed: in his house there is a mysterious door, yet there is no key for it. On one of the forums he finds a man who claims that he has the original key to this door. Only trouble is, Karl has to go on tours, and at the same time he wants to get the key as soon as possible. So he asks his son to urgently go to Prague and find the owner of the key. Exactly from that moment Philipp’s life changes radically…
