What could be more carefree than the magical world of glossy magazines? Yet it’s in the editorial office of one of them that a whole chain of brutal crimes occurs. Among the suspects are the magazine’s leading staff, as well as a famous actor, a well-known photographer, and a popular stylist. The investigation involves Silvester Bessonov, a man who has the ability to notice small details and connect scattered facts. This time he encounters a rather strange set of evidence.
At the scene of the first murder, investigators find a syringe, an antique Christmas tree ornament, and the New Year issue of the magazine “Shine.” To reach the truth, Silvester has to follow a chain of crimes—and simultaneously unravel puzzles from a century ago, search for suspicious women from advertising photos, and even… write poems in order to lure an important witness into a trap. One detail especially unsettles him, because it links all the crimes together. In every case, one way or another, there appears an image of a strawberry—present both on men’s underwear and on an adorable woman’s body…
