The role of classical literature in the life of every person without exception cannot be overestimated. From the classics we learn about past epochs, traditions, everyday life, and standards of behavior in bygone times. And it is told not in a dry language of historical facts, but literally from the first person, from the perspective of people who became witnesses—or even direct participants—in the events being described. Ukrainian classical literature is no exception in this regard. It has given us great names and a vast layer of cultural heritage, making an invaluable contribution to the treasury of world literature.
