Clans of the Alphan Moon

For many years, the third moon in the Alpha system was used as a psychiatric hospital. But when the war between space colonies began, the clinic was left without supervision, and the patients created their own state. This is a clan society founded on the diagnoses of its citizens. When Terra sends a delegation to take the colony back, it discovers on the satellite enclaves of people with mania, depression, schizophrenia, and other illnesses—and all of them are ready to defend their independence.

Meanwhile, on Terra, the intelligence agent Chuck Rittersdorf and his wife, a psychiatrist, Mary, are going through a difficult divorce that leaves Chuck with nothing.
