By describing each of her fifteen heroes, telling what it means for each of them to be blind, what they had to go through in their lifetime, and how they live now, Bi Feiyu makes the reader empathize with her characters from start to finish.
For the novel “Chinese Massage,” the writer was awarded China’s most prestigious literary prize—the Mao Dun Prize (2011).
