A detective story about a complex moral choice: if you can’t save everyone at once, how do you decide who to save first? According to statistics, 20% of passengers manage to avoid death in disasters. They miss their flight or, at the last moment, refuse to travel… The task of increasing the number of lucky survivors falls to the developers of a new computer program. They’re close to solving it, but they don’t yet realize that a hunt is already under way for them…

In a crash, computer scientist Kirill Stanov dies. His death looks like a ridiculous accident, but the colleagues of the deceased doubt it. Recently, Stanov had been working on a unique program, “Angel,” designed to detect planned catastrophes and thereby prevent people with high IQs from dying. Thanks to the new technology, those whose lives were supposed to tragically end in the crash would simply be late for their plane or train.

Kirill’s son, Pavel, continues his father’s case. But first of all, the young man wants to know who is behind the murder of his older father. During further tests of the program, Pavel meets people who know what really happened. Determined to avenge his father’s death, he doesn’t yet realize what dangerous game his unknown opponent is pulling him into…
