Kangaroo

“Kangaroo” (1974–1975, ed. 1981) is a kind of picaresque novel in which an old thief who made a “deal” with power, and on the eve of a great holiday was jailed on a fabricated charge, tells everything he went through during one trial in the late Stalin era; the novel’s events also draw in Stalin himself.
