The Treasurer

After his father—a respected front-line veteran who died in an accident—passed away, Anatoly Gudnichenko, a financier, becomes a witness to a chain of strange events. First, unknown people break into the dacha that was passed to him as inheritance, turn everything upside down, and vandalize the old man’s car. Then someone kidnaps Anatoly’s mother, demanding something valuable as a ransom—without specifying what exactly. Just as unexpectedly, the kidnappers release the hostage.

Wondering what all this could mean, Gudnichenko recalls a key to another dacha that his father handed him not long before his death. After searching the entire house, Anatoly finds a hiding place with ten million dollars in it. From that moment on, his life becomes different— the money he found distorts Gudnichenko’s fate beyond recognition…
